Come In.

Watch a class.

or just train.

Your first class is free, and there's no catch - no sales pitch, no obligation, nobody following up forever. Turn up, find out what it's actually like, and decide for yourself.

your first night

four things happen. none of them are scary.

01

you arrive

Come ten minutes early. Wear a t-shirt and something you can move in. You don't need a uniform, gloves, or anything else - not until you decide to stay.

02

someone takes you

You'll be paired with a student who was, not long ago, exactly where you are. They'll show you where to stand and what to do. You won't be left to figure it out.

03

you train

Warm-up, then basics - a stance, a punch, a block. You'll be taught at your level, not thrown into the deep end. You will likely not fight anyone on your first night.

04

you decide

You'll be tired and you'll know within the hour whether this is for you. If it isn't, that's completely fine and we'll say so. If it is, we'll tell you what comes next.

Your first class is free. No commitment, no pressure to join us. That decision can only come from you.

Tuition covers every eligible class on the schedule. Train once a week or as many as are available; the price is the same. The people who improve fastest are the ones who attend often.

You need nothing to start. Once you decide to stay, uniform and protective equipment are purchased through the dojo: we use vetted suppliers and confirm the gear meets the standard we train to. If you already own equipment, bring it in and a senior instructor will approve it or tell you honestly why they won't.

This is a safety policy, not a sales one. You will be hit while wearing this equipment. We are not willing to find out the hard way that it wasn't good enough.

The honest version: this is not the cheapest way to exercise in Ellensburg, and it isn't trying to be. What you're paying for is a curriculum that's written down, a standard that doesn't move, and instructors who will tell you the truth about your progress.

before you ask

the questions everybody has

do i need to be in shape?

No. The conditioning is part of the training, not a prerequisite for it. Plenty of people here started out of breath.

i'm 45. am i too old?

No. Requirements scale honestly with age; that's written into the syllabus, not a favour we do for you. Some of our best students started in their 40s and 50s. Our most experienced students are in their 70s.

will i get hit?

Yes, eventually. This is full-contact karate and we don't pretend otherwise. But not on your first night, and not until you've learned to protect yourself and we've decided you're ready.

what if i'm terrible?

You will be. Everyone is. Nobody on that floor will be surprised or impatient about it, because they remember being you.

can i just watch first?

Yes. Sit down, watch a full class, talk to whoever you like afterward. No pitch, no pressure.

What do I wear?

A t-shirt and anything you can move in. Bare feet. Leave the jewelry at home.

Do I have to buy gear from you?

Yes - and it's deliberate. We use vetted suppliers so we can confirm your gear meets the standard. Own something already? Bring it. A senior instructor approves it or explains why not.

I've trained before. Where do I fit?

On the same floor as everyone else, and we'll find out quickly. Rank from another school doesn't transfer, but the skill does.

Can my kid and I both train?

Yes, and it's fairly routine throughout our history. Junior class runs 5:30–6:30, adults 6:30–8:00. Family rates apply.

book a free class.

Pick a night, show up, and find out. Fill this out and we'll confirm your first class; no experience, no equipment, no pressure.
